Waikato Badminton Awards

It is our pleasure to invite members and non-members to submit nominations for the 2020 Waikato Badminton Awards. A celebration of these achievements will be held in November at the 2020 Waikato Badminton Awards Function. Invitations to this function shall be emailed to all Clubs soon.

All nominations shall be for the qualifying period of 1 October 2019 to 30 September 2020. It would be great to give all deserving people in our badminton community some recognition in what’s been a challenging year for everyone. As a result of disruptions caused by Covid-19, many events had to be cancelled throughout 2020 which have impacted the way participants have experienced their badminton this year. ‘Player of the Year’ awards which typically focus heavily on extraordinary competition results and performances shall not be offered this year however Recognition Trophies for juniors, seniors and masters players are still categories offered.

Candidates must be affiliated WBA members, and can be nominated for one or more categories online – http://bit.ly/2020WBAawards by Friday 16 October 2020. All Award categories and criteria can be found on below – it is important that all nominations are accompanied by supporting information.
