The Mitre 10 Mega Waikato International was a huge success thanks to the many volunteers that helped out for three long days. Waikato Badminton greatly appreciates all the support received. Special thank you also goes to referee Julie Carrel not only for her work as referee but also for sharing her tournament organising experience and expertise. We have learned a lot and will start getting ready for the Waikato International in 2016 which will be held from 18-20 March. The 2016 edition will be part of the Rio Olympics qualifying period so we can expect an event better field next year.

A unique opportunity is being presented by Eastlink Sports during the April school holidays (7-10 April). 5 sports all based at the Eastlink Sports Hub have joined forces to organise a holiday programme for kids aged 6 and over.

Play Badminton, Squash, Tennis, Cricket and do Karate (Martial Arts) all in one week. Participants will be placed in age appropriate groups and will be rotated around all sports each day giving them a chance to be active for an entire week.
