Waikato Badminton Association (WBA) will be hosting the Atalanta Jamboree at the Eastlink Badminton Stadium (60 Old Farm Road, Hamilton East 3216), in partnership with Cambridge Badminton Club, presented by Hamilton City Council, and proudly sponsored by Zealong Tea Estate. This event welcomes female players from Australian and New Zealand based clubs.
Atalanta, in Greek mythology, is a renowned and swift-footed huntress. Teams of 5-6 play in a day-time, social-competitive round robin format from 16-22 October 2022. Team entries, player nominations, social function bookings, merchandise orders are being taken online.
Regulations:
- Eligibility: Players entering must be a member of, and in good standing, with a Club/Association affiliated to Badminton NZ or the Badminton World Federation.
- Draws: Graded sections may be provided however should there be an insufficient number of entries all teams will be placed into the same draw.
- Scoring: In order to ensure ties are completed on time and that player experience is maximised, the organisers may decide on alternative scoring systems.
- Shuttles: Feather shuttles will be provided.
- Ties: Teams can be defaulted if no players have arrived 30 minutes after the scheduled start of the tie unless the delay is due to circumstances beyond the control of the whole team. WBA recommends that players are ready to play the first match within 10-15 minutes of the scheduled start of the tie (first 15 minutes being the time provided for team introductions and warm-ups). A player who defaults a match shall have all their following matches defaulted in that tie.

- Tournament Organiser / Committee reserves the right to alter / cancel the event due to COVID-19 related restrictions, insufficient entries, or if time does not permit a full competition to be played.
- Players entering must meet all COVID-19 related conditions at the time, including but not limited to contact tracing, vaccination certificates, mask wearing and physical distancing.
- Teams withdrawing after entries have closed will not be eligible for a refund unless a medical certificate is submitted at the time of withdrawal. A NZ$20 administration fee will be deducted from such refunds.
- Full refunds will be provided if the tournament is suspended or cancelled, however financial reimbursement of any other expenses related to the tournament will not be considered.
- Players agree and acknowledge that any person, shall have the right to photograph and or record on video any part of the event, retain such photographs or video recordings for their own use of whatsoever nature, distribute such photographs or video recordings to any other party, display such photographs or video recordings during the event or any time thereafter, in any form whatsoever (including but not limiting to promotional displays of the organisers and/or the sponsors of the event or any similar event, social network internet sites, the website(s) of the organisers and/or sponsors of the event and of Waikato Badminton Association) PROVIDED THAT no such photographs or video recordings shall be used or retained for any illegal immoral or unseemly user or purpose.
